Description
About: Hypericum is native to the Mediterranean region of Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East. There are hundreds of Hypericum varieties, in many different colors. The flower is also widely known as St. John Wort. This species, Hypericum Perforatum, is known for the beneficial effects and is being processed in various pharmaceutical products. Hippocrates (460 v.Chr. – 370 v.Chr.) recommended Hypericum to treat nervous unrest. Another name for this flower is Tutsan: it comes from the French word Toutesaine, what means “all healthy”. In the floral industry, we use only the branches with berries, not the yellow flowers. That’s the reason some people call the flowers ‘coffee bean berry’.
